Although beach weddings are absolutely stunning, there are a few things to keep in mind if you are thinking of exchanging vows next to the beautiful ocean backdrop.
2. Take the time of day into consideration. Most of our couples that opt for a beach wedding really want guests to experience that gorgeous sunset but if there’s one thing we cannot control is the weather. More often than not the sun and clouds battle will change throughout the day and it is very possible that you may not see a sunset at all. Luckily, you will get the BEST photos when there are no shadows so take it as win!
3. You’ll definitely want to select a beach location that is either part of a venue or a private residence. Getting married on a public beach will bring on lots of lookie-loos and unless you are ok with being randomly posted on stranger’s facebook or instagram, I highly doubt this is a part of your vision. There are many venues across the world that will make sure your beach ceremony is for you and your guests only.
4. Always have a Plan B. As a bride who got married on the beach, the anxiety leading up to the day wondering whether or not it was going to rain was almost too much too handle even for me. I did have a plan B which was renting a clear top tent so that it would still feel like we were outdoors. Thank God it was the only day that week we did not get any rain :). Please remember that clear top tents are pricey and you should account for that in your budget, something we love to help with at Alicia + Co. Events.
5. Finally, have fun! enjoy that ocean breeze and dance the night away!
